LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Mount Marty University freshman Lalit Jain achieved a major milestone in his U.S. archery career by winning the Freestyle Limited Recurve Adult Male division at the 2023 National Field Archery Association (NFAA) Indoor National Championships, held March 24–26 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Jain delivered an exceptional performance with a combined score of 595 points (63 Xs) out of 600 over two days of competition. After opening with a perfect 300 on Day 1, he followed up with a 295 on Day 2 to clinch the national title by a four-point margin.

His closest challenger was Matthew Nofel, a former Team USA Olympian who represented the United States at the Tokyo Olympics.

The event brought together over 1,500 competitors from all 50 U.S. states and international participants from Canada, Denmark, and the Netherlands, making Jain’s victory even more impressive.

🥇 Another Major Milestone: The Vegas Shoot

Just weeks before the NFAA Indoor Nationals, Lalit Jain also made his mark at The Vegas Shoot — the largest indoor archery tournament in the world. Competing against thousands of elite archers, he earned a spot in the First Flight in his division — a highly competitive tier reserved for the top scorers of the event.

This placement at The Vegas Shoot was a significant achievement in Jain’s U.S. archery career, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure on the sport’s biggest stages and against world-class competitors.

Lalit Jain’s rapid rise in the American archery scene is a reflection of his 12+ years of competitive experience, his adaptability, and his commitment to excellence. In India, he earned multiple national medals and a silver at the South Asian Archery Championship. In the U.S., he continues to distinguish himself through both collegiate and national competition.
